All members of the psychology faculty at Northwestern are active researchers and teachers. Interdisciplinary research is a hallmark of our department, and several faculty members are affiliated with more than one of our program areas. Many members of the faculty also have affiliations outside the department -- for example, with the Cognitive Science Program, the Institute for Policy Research, the School of Education and Social Policy, or the N.U. Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program. Similarly, while each psychology graduate student has a primary area affiliation and adviser (or pair of advisers), collaboration and study with other faculty members both within and outside the student's major area are common. Research and departmental staff members and postdoctoral fellows also contribute to the teaching and research missions of the department.
