Professor Dan McAdams discusses narrative identity in an episode of "Dispatches from the Well"

Our department's very own, Dr. Dan McAdams, was featured in a recent episode of "Dispatches from the Well," a new series hosted by Kmele Foster that sets out to have insightful conversations with scientists, religious leaders, writers, actors, and more to understand how we make meaning of the world. In an episode featuring Jane Goodall and Terry Crews, Dr. McAdams offers his perspective on storytelling, sharing how the stories we tell about our own lives (i.e., narrative identity) help us make sense of our past, present, and future selves. The stories we construct about our lives are shaped by our experiences and cultures and serve as the foundation for how we understand ourselves and others to make meaning in the world.
